Hi. I was wondering about weight loss. I do want to lose weight on my belly and I exercise everyday and I diet(really good and very healthy diet). Is there anything to enhance or advance weight loss while sitting on the computer?
Reminding you that I exercise and diet each day, very healthily, and I was wondering if I can enhance weight loss even more when I’m just doing nothing or if I’m sitting on the computer.
You can do what Bruce Lee did while he watched TV: sit in a v with your head and legs off the ground. He also had a muscle zapper thing he used whilst typing. Or you could get a giant mouse that weighs a hundred pounds and a giant keyboard you press with your feet.
Kegels are good too.
There are so many weight loss products on the market, some prescriptions and other over the counter drugs that are supposed to help you lose weight. Often many of these products can actually have devastating effects on your health. Some medications can cause side effects such as stroke, heart attack, tachycardia, and in some extreme cases death. These side effects sound scary, but one may wonder how realistic these side effects are.
There are several different forms of diet pills. The two most popular forms of diet pills are appetite suppressants and stimulants. Both of these have been approved to aid in weight loss if the obesity is considered to be more dangerous than the effects of the drugs. If you are less than 30 pounds overweight things are much different then for those that are obese. Prescription medications are very regulated but over the counter medications have risks that have not been documented.
There are many requirements that are required out of pharmaceutical companies, which include tests and labeling, but weight loss supplements do not undergo the same requirements. They do not even have to be reviewed by the FDA if they do not have an ingredient that has not been used for weight loss before. The company that makes the drug is supposed to be responsible for the product, but many times they use unhealthy ingredients and dosages that are much too high.
Since not all over the counter weight loss medications are regulated you need to take precautions before you take them. You need to be sure that you research these medications. Find out the information about the active ingredient in the medication and find out what risks there are to keep in mind.
You should also be sure to take the time to talk new weight loss products with your doctor. Often these products can have a reaction with medications that you are already taking, so you want to be sure that you can take this new medication without any adverse effects. Also be sure that you follow the instructions and do not take more than is recommended even though it may be tempting.
You should never take weight loss medication long term unless it has been prescribed by your physician. Be sure to talk to your pharmacist or doctor to be sure there are no reactions with your current prescriptions or even other over the counter medications you may be taking.
Often the best defense may be not taking weight loss medications at all. There are many risks that have been associated with weight loss pills and it is not worth the risk of losing your health or your life to lose a little weight. If you want to lose weight talk to your doctor and come up with a plan that will help you lose weight in a healthy and safe way.

I’ve heard snacking through out the day is good, but then i’ve heard that you shouldn’t snack to loose weight. I’m currently trying to loose weight and i have the working out part down, i just need to figure out the eating part of things. I’ve been trying to eat less calories than normal, but i always end up slipping.
What are your thoughts on different eating habits geared towards weight loss?
Hi Blondie,
As far as the IDEAL eating habits, which is what I think you’re asking here, I would not worry too much about counting calories and slipping up on that, because that can drive you insane! But more just think about the actual quality of those calories. Building healthy eating habits and keeping the weight off in the long term is what you should really strive for.
As cliche as it may sound you gotta eat your veggies. They are amazingly good for you, also raw nuts (almonds are best) fruits, and 100% whole grain breads instead of white flours (white flour is very bad for you, read up on it if you get the chance!) Try and stay away from fried foods and fast food as much as possible, and other empty calories and foods that provide you no nutrients, like ice cream/candy/cake etc. Substitute Soda for water and 100% pure juice (this was HUGE for me, I lost 10 pounds doing ONLY this)
Just be persistent, set goals, make little changes and stick with them. You will get to where you want to be. You really have to want it, I did and I’m at my goal weight now. Please check out my blog, I think you will enjoy the information and my weight loss story. The link is below and best of luck hon.
Ive been loosing weight over the past few months. Now that I have a gym membership I was wondering what workouts are most efficient at weight loss. I go about 4 times a week. Thanks
any type of cardio i.e. bike, treadmill, eliptical.
Weights would also be a great addition.
A lot of gyms will allow you to have a personal trainer for free the first couple times. I’d look into that.
To lose weight fast, the best tip I can give you is to take massive action with a multi-prong approach.
Without going to extremes like surgery or even risking side effects with diet pills, you can lose weight fast in the natural way by focusing on these three areas:
- Change your eating habit
- Walk your way to weight loss
- Be active in your daily routine
1) Change Your Eating Habit
How many calories do you ingest from a typical meal at a fast food restaurant?
If you guess 600 kcal, you’re still short…
A packet of fries at a fast food outlet easily give you more than 600 kcal. And we haven’t even counted the burger and the carbonated drink!
Now, that meal alone gives you much more than you can burn and the excess is then stored as fat. Just imagine how much fat we keep storing in our bodies if we continue to eat the way we do.
In other words, we simply overeat!
So, you simply need to eat less per meal. If you can reduce at least one-third or even half of what you’re eating, you would not stop adding to your body fat.
The rule of thumb is to eat till you’re not hungry at each meal rather than eat till you’re feeling full.
As you eat less per meal, you should eat more meals.
What? Eat more meals to lose weight?
Yes, absolutely! Because if you just eat less per meal, you would feel hungry between meals and your body will think that you’re going through a famine and start to slow down its metabolism. So, eating smaller meals 5 or 6 times per day would not cause your metabolism to slow down unnecessarily.
2) Walk Your Way To Weight Loss
Walk, not run!
Yes, if you think you lose more weight by running, you’re in for a surprise.
Just look at any tread mill the next time you’re at a gym. The fat burning zone is always at typically 55% to 70% of your target heart rate which is lower than the aerobic zone at 70% to 80%.
The reason for this is that when you work out at the higher target heart rate, you would not be able to last. For people who are obese, they probably won’t even last for five minutes and that would translate to perhaps 50 or 100 kcal! But if they are working out at the lower heart rate, they could last for at least half an hour to one hour.
So, if you want to lose weight fast, a ‘quick’ way (or rather slow way) is to take long walks each day for at least 1 to 2 hours! Yes, you need that long duration in order to burn as many kcal as possible.
3) Be Active In Your Daily Routine
Every bodily activity helps you to lose weight including breathing, walking, working, even eating itself needs energy.
What you can do to help to burn as many calories as possible is to increase your incidental activities such as volunteering to do household chores or mow the lawn. Can you imagine how happy your spouse or family members would be?
Yes, move around as much as you can. Even if you’re sedentary most of the time, learn to take breaks after every 30 to 40 minutes and just walk around and do some stretching.
If you can stick to this three prong approach for at least month, I guarantee that you will see results. However, that’s not all. To get more free tips to lose weight fast, feel free to visit my web site.
