1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1-2 Cubes of Bouillon (if desired)
1 Cabbage Head
Making the soup
1) Cut the vegetables place in the pot and cover with water, you can also use V-8 juice.
2) Boil the ingredients fast for 10 minutes.
3) Simmer and cook the cabbage soup until all of the vegetables are tender.
4) Season the cabbage soup with salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, or whatever spice you wish. When following the cabbage soup diet, you should be aware of some of the details.

The cabbage soup diet will only work if it is followed exactly how it is set down, means no deviation from the format
Day 1
Eat all of the fruit you want, except for bananas. You can eat only the cabbage soup and the fruit for the first day. You can drink unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water.

Keep in mind that leafy green vegetables are preferable and that you should avoid dry beans, peas and corn. Fruit is not allowed.

You should be honest with yourself. It goes through your head several times before you decide to buy a product that claims to have a quick fix solution to weight gain. But the idea of a pill that magically makes you lose fat and an advertiser who uses big words and graphics to convince you that its scientifically conceivable makes you break, right? At least that is how I feel. Even if you don’t buy it you want to, right?
I did some research and find out how consumers can tell if a weight loss product will be effective or not. I found a report issued by The Federal Trade Commission about claims that weight loss companies when they try to sell their products to you.
And frankly, the feeling you’ve had all along is true. They came up with some weight loss claims that are impossible.
To be more specific, you’ve heard of weight loss products that say you’ll drop the pounds just by wearing a special belt or rubbing cream on your trouble spots. It would be nice, but according to the FTC there is no substantial evidence that using external products will generate any weight loss.
They also found that a product can’t “block” the absorption of calories enough to cause significant weight loss, if any at all. It is simply a fact that the calories you take in have to be burned off or they are stuck there.
Another claim says that you can lose weight without diet or exercise. Not true. In fact, you may even gain weight if your unaltered diet includes eating more calories than your daily needs. To be more specific, the potential weight loss from a non-prescription pill that increases metabolism or blocks absorption of calories likely won’t be more than a quarter to a third pound per week.
One last false claim is that a product will cause permanent weight loss. Just like fat can always be burned off, it can always be added on.
So now that you know some of the things that don’t work you can focus on what does. There are many products out there that do work, and work well. Those that promote overall health like zone diet meals, athletic equipment, fitness videos, some appetite suppressants and many more weight loss products have a good degree of effectiveness on certain individuals. According to the Center for Disease Control, an estimated 66 percent of U.S. adults are overweight. 32 percent are obese. A new study by researchers at RTI International and the Centers for Disease Control estimates that U.S. obesity-attributable medical expenditures reached $75 billion in 2003 and that taxpayers finance about half of these costs through Medicare and Medicaid. Some estimates claim that obesity contributes to over 300,000 deaths per year in the U.S. and has surpassed smoking as the #1 killer.
75 million people go on a diet every year. The weight loss industry rakes in over $109 million every day. Despite the incredible monetary gains of the weight loss industry, people are getting sicker and more overweight with over 60 diseases being related to obesity.
Why is this happening? Two Reasons:
Reason number one:
There are chemicals from food, preservatives, pesticides, fertilizers. We consume over 700 chemicals in our water. We deal with 700,000 tons of pollution in the air. We have chemicals from cosmetics and cleaning fluids. Animals are injected with hormones, steroids and antibiotics. These toxins we ingest every day are stored in the fat cells in your body.
Reason number two:
Most diets that promote rapid weight loss use harsh diuretics which rob the body of important nutrients and minerals (especially potassium, magnesium, calcium) which can dangerously upset your electrolyte balance – causing dehydration and often depression.
They also use harmful stimulants – like MaHuang, Ephedra or Caffeine which speed up your metabolism in an unhealthy way – increasing your blood pressure and heart rate. Diets for weight loss typically attempt to cause imbalances in carbohydrate, fat and protein rations. Perhaps for this reason alone, diets are not sustainable and dieters nearly always yo-yo their weight over time causing progressive increases in percentage of body fat. This composition change is a result of losing lean muscle mass during the diet phase and adding extra fat as the weight is put back on over time.
So the question is, how do you cleanse your body of the toxins and lose unwanted fat without robbing your body of muscle mass, calcium, and nutrients that are required to maintain optimal health?
First, realize that there is no miracle pill that will save you. Also realize that these fasting diets are only going to cause a yo-yo affect because you are robbing your body of nutrients. Exercise is extremely important, but it must be combined with the proper eating habits.
